No More Heavy Bags For Students In CBSE Schools

In September, 2016 CBSE had instructed the schools under it not to give any homework to Class I and II students in order to reduce the pressure from students,. Also they were asked to ensure that students should not bring school bags.  CBSE will soon be making mandatory for all its affiliated schools to keep those books that students don't need to take home. According to reports, this move comes in a hope to lighten backpacks that have become a health concern for being too heavy. As the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) making drastic changes in the curriculum of the school, the board has started to install lockers for students to keep their books. For this, the board will soon be making mandatory for all its affiliated schools to keep those books that students don't need to take home. CBSE to ensure exam centres are within 8km of students’ schools

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started developing an online system, which will ensure that students are allocated examination centres which are located within eight kilometres of their schools. The board will provide all information with respect to exam centres for board exams, National Eligibility Test (NET), NEET, JEE main online. For this purpose it had asked for mandatory disclosures from schools throughout the country about the current infrastructure. This is done for the purpose of bringing transparency in the system. As of now there is no system for online mapping of such information. The CBSE has decided to allocate the exam centres within an 8km radius of schools. This way the students don’t have to travel long distances for examination purposes. The closest centre will be allocated for other competitive exams.
